Plan to Produce

Maximize Efficiency by Streamlining your Manufacturing Processes

What is Plan to Produce?

In today’s fast paced and competitive age, operational excellence is a must for success. The only recipe for success is having an optimum combination of employees, business processes, and systems in place. Plan to Produce, is a vital process in SAP ERP, wherein the company coordinates customer demand with the organization’s manufacturing capacity in order to create schedules for production and procurement of materials and finished products.

Plan to Produce includes all of the business processes that are related to production. This includes processes in order for forecasting, material and production planning and scheduling, reporting, cost controlling, shop floor control, etc. In some cases, it can also include work in progress inventory and quality control. The whole process is examined from a budgeted sales plan point of view, since planning is based on meeting sales requirements of the company in accordance with the cycle times for production.

Plan to Produce enables organizations to plan for their manufacturing, sales, and goods distribution. This process plays a crucial role in the supply chain and easily integrates with other SAP ECC components, such as SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP PM, SAP QM, and SAP FICO, to name a few.
